Speedwell: a special gift
This tiny flower's name is Speedwell. It is so tiny that you will even not notice it when it is in bloom in the sun someday in the mid winter time like now. These four petals are closed if the day is dark or gloomy.
When the world is cold, everywhere is so brown and not lively at all. I think Speedwell is a special gift that brings the simple happiness and make the day a special day.

winter grass flower
Have you ever wondered the grass flower in winter and summer?
It looks almost the same just a lot less in winter and summer.
But this grass will reborn again and again
and look almost the same at the certain time of year every year.
Don't let your past dictate who you are,
but let it be part of who you will become.

Afternoon tea
I take today off!!
After a long work period, I feel so tired and think to myself that a day off might be a good valentines' gift to myself.
I make myself a cup of tea, to be exact, a cup of jasmine tea. In the cold winter, it is so relaxing to sit in the sun and drink tea.
A best friend of mine gave me this jasmine tea. I bought an "English rose" tea cup together with my sister from a store in Towson.
It is an old tea cup. I can see an evidence that this is a tea cup of someone who loves drinking tea and takes good care of it.
Drinking good tea, think about sweet memory from the old friend, this old tea cup is meant to be used for.

Daffodils in Winter Time.
I went to National Botanical Gardens in DC yesterday. It was a wonderful day with beautiful sunlight and weather. There are a lot of flowers in bloom and daffodil is one of them.
It was warm in the conservatory, and if you enter to the last section in the innermost of the garden, as soon as the door opened, you would feel it "smell like spring".
It might be something so normal nowaday to see daffodils in the early February. Not only in the conservatory, you may find it even in grocery store. But I feel like it is amazing that I can see lots of daffodils in bloom at this time of year.
It is the same feeling everytime I was on the airplane and look at the sky below me.
It is something that proof to the world that "What impossible is possible".
And one thing to remind myself is even though we can have daffodils in winter time but we can not turn daffodils from yellow to blue. (Well, if at the end somebody could, I don't think you call that flower daffodils any more.)
Happy Sunday!!

Icy day
At least once in winter time, it is the "icy" day.
Everything is so beautiful when it is frozen in variety shape. It is a beauty to look and a danger to walk.
And when I have to deal with a "car" popcicle, I don't think I had that much fun :-)
I like the grass flowers in ice. It looks like rice grain when it ripes and turn gold but this special grain is crystal clear.
This ice-rice grain reminds me of what I have read when I was young 'Everything is evened up in this world. The rich have their ice in the summer but the poor get theirs in the winter.' *
